Course Overview
The course provides those who are successful with the necessary knowledge and skills to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) during a cardiac arrest event. The course follows the latest Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a very safe, automatic device that delivers a shock to a cardiac arrest victim.
Course ContentUpon completion the delegates will have gained knowledge of:
- Approach a casualty safely.
- Assess a collapsed casualty.
- Correctly apply effective chest compressions to a casualty.
- Administer effective rescue breaths to a casualty.
- Turn on the AED and attach the electrodes correctly.
- Assess cardiac rhythm by the AED.
- Perform defibrillation safely.
- Place casualty in the recovery position.
Successful candidates are awarded the Automated External Defibrillation certificate that is valid for 12 months to Resuscitation Council (UK) Standards.
